Southeast Oklahoma

11/15/24 - 11/18/24

The Broken Bow area of Oklahoma is such a beautiful place, you guys! We spent a long weekend there during the off-season just to get away for a while. David had been wanting to check out the Talimena Drive for a while now, and it seemed like a good time to go when the leaves were changing colors. I wanted to share some pictures and details from our trip because it was definitely relaxing and worthwhile.

Snuggle Inn

David found the most charming cabin for our weekend getaway, and it was everything we could have hoped for! Managed by Tin Star, the experience was seamless from start to finish—we’d absolutely book with them again. The one-bedroom, one-bath cabin had a fully stocked kitchen, a cozy living room, and a lovely breakfast nook, perfect for a relaxing retreat. The real highlight, though, was the large covered deck out back. Complete with a fireplace, a TV, a comfy couch, and a bar-height table, it was the ultimate spot to unwind. And as if that wasn’t enough, there was also a hot tub on the deck, perfect for soaking under the stars. Just beyond the deck, the backyard featured a wood-burning fire pit, ideal for late-night s’mores and storytelling.

Talimena Drive

The Talimena Drive is a breathtaking 54-mile scenic route that showcases stunning vistas, rolling hills and endless sky. In the fall, the vibrant colors of the leaves transform the drive into an unforgettable journey through nature’s beauty.

Cedar Bluff Trail and Broken Bow Lake

Broken Bow

Broken Bow Lake was such a peaceful spot, even with the cloudy skies and a little rain. The water was so calm, and the whole place just felt relaxing. The weather was super comfortable, which made it perfect for hiking the Cedar Bluff Trail. It’s only about a mile long with a few steeper parts, but the view at the end is absolutely worth it! Definitely check out the Blue Rooster restaurant in Hochatown after your hike!
